{"id":41,"date":"2016-10-11T15:44:30","date_gmt":"2016-10-11T15:44:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/oldoakneighbourhoodforum.org\/?page_id=41"},"modified":"2026-04-11T16:25:10","modified_gmt":"2026-04-11T16:25:10","slug":"we-need-your-input","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/oldoakneighbourhoodforum.org\/","title":{"rendered":"What future for Old Oak?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>About the Forum:<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>We are a neighbourhood forum designated by OPDC in 2018 and redesignated in 2023.\u00a0 We hold meetings via Zoom each month, open to all our members.\u00a0 Our next session will be on <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">Tuesday 5th May at 6.30pm.\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">(<\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Our usual Thursday is Election Day for London Borough Councils, and people may be voting in the evening).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>The Zoom link and agenda will be circulated a few days in advance.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\">\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Slides from our April meeting are now <a href=\"https:\/\/oldoakneighbourhoodforum.org\/?page_id=141\">posted<\/a> on this site.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Timelines for the completion of Old Oak Common station, and the start of\u00a0 HS2 services from Birmingham to Old Oak, still remain uncertain.\u00a0 The HS2 project has been undergoing a &#8216;comprehensive reset&#8217; since June 2025. The outcome is not now expected to be announced before mid 2026.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u00a0OPDC has been acquiring sites in the area around the planned station, and is seeking develop partners interested in forming joint venture partnerships to develope these sites along with (ultimately) those owned\u00a0 by the Department for Transport and in use as HS2 construction compounds.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\">Sites forming OPDC land portfolio<a href=\"http:\/\/oldoakneighbourhoodforum.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Land-assembly-Feb-2026.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1081\" src=\"http:\/\/oldoakneighbourhoodforum.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Land-assembly-Feb-2026-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" srcset=\"https:\/\/oldoakneighbourhoodforum.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Land-assembly-Feb-2026-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/oldoakneighbourhoodforum.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Land-assembly-Feb-2026-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/oldoakneighbourhoodforum.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Land-assembly-Feb-2026-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/oldoakneighbourhoodforum.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Land-assembly-Feb-2026-1200x675.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/oldoakneighbourhoodforum.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Land-assembly-Feb-2026.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 1362px) 62vw, 840px\" \/><\/a><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><b>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.london.gov.uk\/moderngovopdc\/ieListDocuments.aspx?CId=378&amp;MId=6358&amp;Ver=4\">OPDC Board on November 20th<\/a> endorsed the Development Corporation&#8217;s latest &#8216;Masterplan Framework&#8217;.\u00a0 The area covered lies between Willesden Junction station and North Acton station.<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Copies of the Masterplan Framework (subject to final changes) are now <a href=\"https:\/\/www.london.gov.uk\/who-we-are\/city-halls-partners\/old-oak-and-park-royal-development-corporation-opdc\/opdc-masterplan-framework\">available for download<\/a> from the OPDC website.\u00a0 The 200 page document shows images and diagrams which are described as &#8216;illustrative&#8217;.\u00a0 At the same time, the document states &#8216;<em>All detailed development proposals<\/em><br \/>\n<em>within the Old Oak area are expected to take account of the vision, principles and guidance set out in the Masterplan<\/em>&#8216;.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Our Forum qestions the legitimacy of this approach when the Masterplan Framework has not been prepared, consulted on or &#8216;examined&#8217; and is not a &#8216;development plan document&#8217;.\u00a0 It proposals involve many variations from the 2022 OPDC Local Plan.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>We also do not accept many of the claims in the document about &#8216;good connectivity&#8217;
