The Old Oak Interim Neighbourhood Forum met as an ‘interim’ body during 2016 and 2017, while we were in discussions with the OPDC and LB Hammersmith & Fulham on our application for designation under the 2011 Localism Act. Our formal inaugural meeting, as a designated forum, was in May 2018.
During the 2020 pandemic, we have been meeting online on Zoom, usually on the first Tuesday of each month.
A set of slides is presented to each meeting, setting out the agenda and including maps, plans, and images of the new developments coming forward for planning approval. We try to keep paperwork to a minimum, and to ensure that everyone at our meetings can keep up to speed. All are welcome and no previous knowledge of planning issues is needed. PDF versions of the slides used at recent meetings are posted below.
Our open meetings are attended by our ‘full members’ who live or work within the 22 hectare neighbourhood area designated by OPDC, along with our ‘affiliate members’ from the surrounding area. Anyone with an interest in the future of Old Oak is welcome to attend, and there is no membership fee to join the Forum.
Since the start of 2019 we have been meeting jointly with members of the Grand Union Alliance. This is a network of community groups covering the Boroughs of Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, and Kensington and Chelsea. The Alliance was formed in 2015 and has been very involved at each stage of the OPDC Local Plan.
The Forum is carrying out the more detailed work of preparing a neighbourhood plan. The issues to be covered within this plan will be discussed at the open meetings. See the page at http://oldoakneighbourhoodforum.org/?page_id=12.
