Newsletters and meeting notes

The Old Oak Interim Neighbourhood Forum met as an ‘interim’ body during 2016 and 2017, while we were in discussions with the OPDC and LB Hammermsmith & Fulham on our application for designation under the 2011 Localism Act.   Our formal inaugural meeting, as a designated forum, was in May 2018.

We usually meet at 6.30 pm, in the ‘community space’ at the  Collective building, in Old Oak Lane NW10. We are grateful for the ongoing support of the management of the Collective in providing this space for free, and this venue has the advantage of the building’s lively bar for any of those who wish to stay on to chat after the meeting.

A set of slides is presented to each meeting, setting out the agenda and including maps, plans, and images of the new developments coming forward for planning approval.  We try to keep paperwork to a minimum, and to ensure that everyone at our meetings can keep up to speed.  All are welcome and no previous knowledge of planning issues is needed.

Our open meetings are attended by our ‘full members’ who live or work within the 22 hectare neighbourhood area  designated by OPDC, along with our ‘affiliate members’ from the surrounding area.  Anyone with an interest in the future of Old Oak is welcome to attend, and there is no membership fee to join the Forum.

The Forum’s management committee will be carrying out the more detailed work of preparing a neighbourhood plan.   The issues to be covered within this plan will be discussed at the open meetings.  See the page at Who we are for details of the management committee.
